Earlobes

Large, deflated, or stretched earlobes

As we age earlobes become deflated and often sag. Years of wearing earrings exacerbate the problem, causing additional downward pull. The size of the earlobe can be reduced during a simple outpatient surgical procedure. During your consultation, our surgeons will assess the degree of sagging and your treatment goals, and design a repair that restores your natural earlobe contour. Surgical incisions vary depending on the repair type but are placed to be as inconspicuous as possible. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia for your safety.

To address deflated and wrinkled earlobes, soft tissue filler can be injected to restore youthful plumpness. Hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm or Restylane are most commonly used. These products last 9-12 months and are gradually eliminated from the body by natural mechanisms.

Torn Earlobe repair

Repair of split or torn earlobes is a common cosmetic surgical procedure. During your consultation, our surgeons will assess the degree and exact location of your tear, and design a repair that restores your natural earlobe contour. Surgical incisions vary depending on the repair type but are placed to be as inconspicuous as possible. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia for your safety. Occasionally, this repair is combined with earlobe rejuvenation where soft tissue filler is used to plump the lobe and reduce age-related creasing.
