Joseph Meza, RN, MSN
Joseph Meza, RN, MSN, began his career in clinical research as a study coordinator, gaining experience in a variety of specialties, including OB/GYN, Pulmonology & Critical Care Medicine, Oncology, and Gastroenterology. After nearly a decade in healthcare, he transitioned into nursing and started as an RN in the solid tumor oncology unit at UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center.
His passion for healthcare stems from a deep desire to make a meaningful impact in his patients’ lives while forming connections with individuals at different stages of their medical journeys. He finds fulfillment in both the technical and psychosocial aspects of nursing—learning new procedures and interventions while also providing holistic, nonpharmacologic support to his patients.
Among his proudest career accomplishments, Joseph has been nominated twice for the Daisy Award, an internationally recognized honor for extraordinary patient care. His first nomination came as a nursing student, and his second followed just one month into his full-time RN position. Additionally, he has contributed to multiple research publications and is listed as a collaborator on an article published in JAMA.
He is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and the Oncology Nursing Society, with his Public Health Nursing (PHN) certification currently in process. His extensive research background includes authorship on several abstracts and publications presented at national medical conferences.
Outside of work, Joseph enjoys spending time with his wife, family, and friends. He stays active through exercising, playing golf and basketball, and also finds joy in cooking, landscaping, and bird watching.
